The Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating and documenting the receipt of inbound shipments, verifying product accuracy, and ensuring timely and accurate entry of receiving information into the warehouse management system (WMS). This role requires strong communication and follow-up skills to support smooth coordination between warehouse operations, purchasing, quality control, and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist it receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing slips.
  • Accurately record received quantities and product details in the warehouse management or ERP system.
  • Process and document returned materials (RMAs), ensuring accurate inspection, tagging, and coordination with Quality Control and Purchasing for proper disposition or restocking.
  • Inspect materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies, and report any issues to the supervisor or procurement team.
  • Communicate promptly and professionally with internal departments such as Purchasing, Quality Control, and Inventory to resolve receiving discrepancies or documentation issues.
  • Follow up with suppliers, carriers, or internal teams to track delayed shipments, missing documentation, or damaged goods until issues are resolved.
  • Coordinate with drivers and carriers to ensure proper unloading procedures and documentation.
  • Tag, label, and route received items to appropriate warehouse locations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving dock area to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment safely and in compliance with company policies. Stand-up reach truck experience required.
  • Collaborate closely with warehouse team members to ensure accurate and timely processing of inbound materials.
  • Follow all warehouse safety rules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED required.

- 2+ years of receiving or warehouse experience.

- Familiarity with warehouse management systems.

- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
